Conceptual understanding

The IB programme places importance on conceptual understanding which means promoting learning of 'big ideas' across subjects.

This section will explore what it means developing conceptual understanding in language teaching. It will present teachers with activities that can be used to explain the various aspects of conceptual understanding (audience, context, purpose, meaning and variation).
