PAPER 1 How to prepare students for the writing task
In this section we will look at how to prepare students for their writing tasks.
In order to succeed in Paper 1, students will need to be able to communicate in response to exam instructions for a variety of purposes and audiences.
To prepare students for the writing task, we need therefore to ensure that students know:
1. How to plan a writing task
2. How to use a variety of communicative functions
3. What are the conventions (structural features) of the various text types
4. During the two year course, students must be presented with a range of activities that allow them to practice writing skills using different types of texts (Student portfolio)
