ENTERTAINMENT
Entertainment is an activity that holds the attention and interest of an audience, as it gives pleasure and delight.
In this section, students will explore entertainment as the range of activities that bring people together, divert people's attention from the demands of everyday life, and help families bond.
Students will be offered opportunities to communicate about the topic of Entertainment, by looking at examples of personal, local, national and global interest in a range of subtopics:
- Art
- Celebrities, paparazzi
- TV, Series & Films
- Music & concerts
- Theatre
- Venues
By being exposed to a variety of text types in relation to Entertainment, students will be challenged to compare the target language and culture(s) to other languages and cultures, as well as to other disciplinary areas in the DP.
Through the treatment of a variety of subtopics, students will also be invited to answer a range of questions in the context of the study of Entertainment, like the following:
