PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
The topic Personal Attributes explores the concept of physical appearance as the defining traits or features of people´s bodies.
Students will be offered opportunities to communicate about the topic of Personal attributes by looking at examples of personal, local or national and global interest in a range of subtopics:
- Physical appearance
- Personality
- Clothes
- Personal details: address, age, nationality, language(s)
By being exposed to a variety of text types in relation to Personal attributes, students will be challenged to compare the target language and culture(s) to other languages and cultures, as well as to other disciplinary areas in the DP.
Through treatment of a variety of subtopics, students will be also invited to answer a range of questions in the context of the study of physical appearance:
- How do I present myself to others?
- How much physical appearance matters to me?
- How do I express my identity?
- To what extend the clothes I wear reflect my personality?
